THINGS TO CHECK BEFORE YOU PICK UP YOUR NEW TOILET:
Are the toilets that you want to replace older than 1991? If not, then you are not eligible. Some models have the date stamped inside the tank or on the back of the tank lid. Toilets marked 1.5 or 1.6 gpf behind the toilet seat or inside the tank are not eligible for free replacement; they are already low flow. Call 637-4378 for help.
Measure the distance from the wall behind the toilet to the center of the bolts holding it down to the floor. If this length is less than 12 inches, make sure to let us know when you come. You need a special size toilet.
Free toilets are available to water customers of the City Of Hollister, City of San Juan Bautista, and Sunnyslope County Water District only.
Make sure to bring your household's water bill and your identification. If the addresses do not match, you must have some documentation that you live at the billed address or own the property. Renters please have the property owner's permission to install a new toilet.
Be prepared to deliver the old toilet(s) to us for recycling. If you do not return the old toilets to us, your water provider will bill you for the price of the toilet.
